Community pub - great idea

Don't know the full story, but this Palmers pub shut. The locals weren't happy so they took it over in some form and installed the World's Best Landlord (he really is a star - I go there about every six months and get greeted like a long lost relative).

Food is good mid-range fare (not cheap for what it is, mind) and the whole place is a lot better than when it was a normal brewery pub.

Not somewhere you'd stumble on, well worth a visit.
