Dating back to 1936 The Drum's claim to fame is its architect; the world famous Sir Edwin Lutyens (www.lutyenstrust.org.uk). Lutyens designed the pub as the focal point of the village and today his beautiful vision retains all its traditional charm thanks to a recent million pound restoration project that replaced its thatched roof, restored its beautiful gardens and made the most of its superb views.

Lovely friendly pub. Great atmosphere nice & warm with a log fire. Great service, great food at reasonable prices. Lovely area for a walk before or after visiting the pub.
My wife decided to go to the drum Inn for our 6th wedding anniversary as we were staying locally .although the weather was pouring down we entered the pub and ordered drinks to dry off by the lovely welcoming fire. Had a great meal totally stuffed .had a cocktail which was great. Staff were really nice polite and couldn't do enough to help out will be paying another visit on our next visit to torquay steve and frea little Weston super mare
First visit lunch for two and chose the set menu of three courses for £20.50. Such amazing quality and value for money. The dessert choices included a 'mini' brownie which was what a normal sized portion would be elsewhere and included a coffee of your choice. We didn't need to eat again that day! Highly recommended and will definitely dine here next time.
Relatively easy parking. Comfortable seating. Dog friendly. Extensive menu . Revisited twice last week (September) and it was fantastic. Really good food, very welcoming staff, still dog friendly and even a menu for them. Very highly recommended.
Love Vintage inns and visit many, often, but tonight's experience has probably topped them all - primarily down to our server, Sarah, who couldnt have been more perfect than she was with her service - it pays to have staff that can not only string a sentence together but who also love what they do - which was clear to see from this young lady this evening. This, coupled with delicious food in a pleasant surrounding will ensure we will be back again very soon!
