About us

This delightful free-house is family run by Paul & Ness with Sean heading up the kitchen. Our food is the best locally sourced ingredients we can find lovingly prepared in our kitchen by a team of passionate, talented chefs. Our well kept local Ales, interesting wines and extensive range of spirits (especially our 80 different Gins) make relaxing in our dog friendly bar with log burning fires a pleasure. Our bedrooms all with en-suite facilities each have their own charming style with exposed beams and sloping ceilings. Our location in the Teign Valley is a perfect base to explore South Devon. Set in the hilliest part of Dartmoor National Park you are treated to spectacular views at every corner. This is a walker and cyclist paradise. In the middle of nowhere but within easy reach of everything. In 20 minutes you can be in Exeter City Centre or at one of dozens of blue flag beaches and then back to the tranquil village of Trusham with no street lights to relax and enjoy the quiet countryside. See our things to do page for walking and cycling routes, packages for fishing and shooting, a day at the races or a round of golf.
The warmest welcome and the finest food awaits - this inn deserves a visit - you will not want to leave!.

Enjoyed a short break at The Cridford Inn, what a lovely place. Very welcoming and comfortable with lots of history and fascinating artifacts. The breakfasts were perfect, freshly cooked and presented well. All staff were friendly and very helpful. Ideal location for exploring the local area with many good walks. Thankyou very much Ness and all

Visited for a meal with a friend recently. It has an old charm to it with very friendly staff. Booking advised as it's quite small so tables are limited. We had a lovely burger and the home made pudding was absolutely lovely, filling but refreshing.

My wife and I had a great 3 nights staying at the Inn with our golden retriever. The food was excellent, the ale great and the staff were all very friendly. Our dog loved the local walks. The lane's around the Inn are quite narrow, I would suggest checking with the Inn the easiest way to get there, rather than rely on the sat nav.

We went for a family meal, the staff were extremely helpful. Some members of our party have mobility issues and they suggested an ideal table to sit at and an easier way to enter the Inn. We all, thoroughly enjoyed our meals and they were very helpful as I am gluten intolerant, lots of options and advice. We all felt that we would like to go back again, when we next all meet up.

What a great place to stay! I arrived early and was allowed to check in early, which was a real bonus. The brilliant lady on the bar served me a lovely pint of Avocet and in no time had made the effort to book me a cab for a short while later for me to get to a wedding party. Great. Room very comfortable with nice cotton bedding. Both slept very well. Breakfast in the morning was absolutely top-notch, perhaps the best we've ever had at a hotel, b&b or inn. Can't recommend it enough.
