Even the Beefeater Co don't want you to go there!!

The last time I went to this place, the service was so bad we didn't get knives or forks brought out (the garden) for our meal AND we actually took our own plates back to the kitchen!!! To be fair, it was many years ago.

This time was slightly better in that we didn't have to take our own plates back but...
1. 4 people told us "someone will be with you in a minute" whilst we waited ages to be seated.
2. Restaurant was almost empty and yet lots of items on the menu were not available. I actually heard a member of staff saying they were busy and run out!
3. I have never in my life before had a dry and tough medium cooked fillet steak!! however, my daughters roast pork was absolutely melt in the mouth gorgeous - we fought over it!
4. I didn't know you could extract potato from cooked roast spuds - the actual potato inside the sort of crispy outsides was about half the actual size? Very confusing.
5. Zilch atmosphere - staff seem bored
6. You know your bread has been hanging around a while when the wedge is very dry on one side and slightly less dry on the other :/
7. Floors messy, especially on way to toilets.
8. I was told the coleslaw was made in the kitchen, not bought in. I didn't know you could make coleslaw as bad as supermarket cheap gloop.
9. Don't order the butter as a topping for the steak - It will still be frozen when half your steak is eaten and you will need the steak knife to cut it!
10. Even the Beefeater Co don't want you to go there - its listed as being in Reading on their website!!!!
