Charles Wells pub facing the village green. A one room pub with a L-shaped bar popular with drinkers in the village and surrounding area. A large covered outdoor patio area and a separate smoking shelter is to the rear. Pewter beer tankards hang from the wooden ceiling beams. The food served is basic, popular pub grub like scampi and lasagne etc.
Lovely bar lady in a quaint pub which leads to a very spacious marquee and beer garden. Great location.
Lovely owners, great beer .
Just popped in during a visit to the village. Stayed 20 minutes but very beautiful place.
Right opposite the village green, this is a lovely little pub which gave us a delightful relaxing few hours. The main bar area is really small with a very traditional feel, but the bar staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly throughout the visit. There’s a large marque style area round the back as well as some benches on the lawn, overlooking the green. This was a real sun trap and a nice place to watch the world going by. Given the small size of the place the range of drinks wasn’t the most varied, but fortunately the prices were really reasonable. Inside there’s lots of pictures and material on the wall giving a good atmosphere and it certainly had a vibe of being a hub of the community. With an adequately sized carpark at the rear there’s no excuse to not pay it a visit and next time I’m passing I’ll be sure to stop by, especially in the summer.
Play in a darts league and they're one of our opponents. Always welcoming. Good beer. Large covered outside area where you can still see the tv (world cup football). Ideal on these warm evenings.
