Popped in for an afternoon Sunday roast with my partner and we were very impressed. The quality and quantity of food was exceptional. Highly flavoursome roast potatoes( non of the frozen oven cooks here). 3 slices of lamb superbly cooked. 4 different vegetables (broccoli, carrot, red cabbage and green beans) perfectly cooked and presented. The waiting staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend a visit to the Boot. Thank you for a lovely meal.

We decided to visit the Boot Inn on Boxing Day and initially we had a disappointing experience. That being said, it’s important what a business does to address concerns & feedback to improve customer satisfaction and that is something that Gem and her team are doing very well. On our 2nd visit, the staff were brilliant, attentive and friendly. The food was great, and the portion sizes more than adequate. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal, in a lovely pub/restaurant. The Sunday roast is perfect. The garden looks great for a return in the summer & plenty of parking available too. We will be back for sure, and thank you Gem and team for doing your best to ensure your customers have great experience.

Friendly welcome and well kept ale at this large country pub. Various drinking areas and large restaurant with an interesting menu. Big garden with plenty of seating (some covered) next to the large car park.

A very disappointing Sunday lunch!. We arrived at 1:15 and our meals finally appeared at 2:30. Our waitress apologised after 30 minutes and told us they'd be along shortly. When another member of staff arrived to check how everything was - he seemed surprised that we had already ordered and went to check. Apologies about how busy they were and how orders had piled up! The dining area was empty - we were the only table occupied. There were others in the main bar area - but it was NOT busy. When the food finally arrived the roast dinners did not match the menu descriptions. The Roast Chicken contained the smallest portion of chicken I have ever seen served in a pub roast. No thigh meat or chicken crackling (as per the menu). When we queried, we were told that was how they came - some were bigger, some were smaller! The slow cooked pork belly was without the apple fritter - apparently those hadn't been delivered this week. The Roast Lamb (special) was mainly inedible. Just a large lump of gristle. We did complain and were told the problems stemmed from a small fire last week, and that we should have been told about it when we arrived. In my opinion the problems stem from a complete lack of organisation. We won't be returning.

Wanted to visit since the refurb last year, saw some reviews about slow service when they did reopen so waited to give things a chance to settle in. We went for Sunday lunch and it's a generous 4 stars. Food wise, the starters were good and tasty but took a little while to come out considering they were all cold dishes and it wasn't that busy. Sunday roast portions were okay but things just seemed a little 'dry', veg and beef included. It was pretty tasty though so we finished with clean plates. We did order dessert but the wait became too much so we asked for them to be cancelled and just for the bill; we were assured they'd be out in 2 minutes. 5 minutes later, they were okay but the pavlova was far too sweet for our liking. The staff were very friendly and welcoming but it just seemed disorganised, to be fair they seem to be doing their best. There didn't really seem to be anyone running service or things being run in sections, hence we had 3 or 4 different people serving us. Its not really a problem but having one person look after a set few tables makes the service more attentive in my opinion (spent 15 years working in hospitality). The small details also need to be worked on - only one of us was having wine so I'd expect all the other wine glasses to be cleared but that didn't happen until we asked. We had to ask for salt and pepper and the salt came empty. One of our party was still eating and we were asked if the other plates could be cleared (makes the person still eating feel rushed). To be fair, I think this is a mix of lack of experience and leadership, but as mentioned they are all a friendly bunch! Would we go back... Maybe not for Sunday lunch as we'd probably try somewhere else we'd not been to but we would come for a lunch or evening meal as its a really lovely pub and has been done up well!
