About us

A number of years ago the CSSC introduced a new classification of membership known as linked membership. This was for two reasons, firstly to allow non civil service persons such as family and friends to benefit from CSSC membership and secondly to help address the falling number of members due to cuts in the civil service. At about the same time membership to the CSSC was also opened up to all persons paid “from the public purse”. Therefore local authority staff, teachers, police, fire brigade and health service employees, along with many others became eligible to become CSSC members. In addition a “qualifying” member could link up to three “linked” members to their membership. At the 2018 AGM of the CSSC a proposal was tabled and accepted that after a period of 12 months without any issues, a linked member would become a qualifying member in their own right and could link up to three new people to their membership. As they were now qualifying members they would no longer be linked to their original member and that in turn would free up link spaces for the original member.

This therefore allows an expansion in membership and those who previously were unable to introduce more family members or friends because they already had three linked members are now able to introduce more linked members as long as their original links have passed the 12 months membership time period and not have had any disciplinary issues during this time.

This now means that all persons using the clubhouse have the opportunity to join the CSSC and if they wish to continue to use the club facilities then they are expected to complete a membership form and link to an existing member who is happy to have them linked to them.

All existing and new members are required to behave in an acceptable manner at all times.

Membership forms are available from the Clubhouse bar or you can complete an online application.
