About us

The Nut Tree is a traditional village pub which serves great modern British food in the restaurant but is still somewhere you can stop and have a pint or relaxing drink at the end of a hard day’s work. Even our own Nut Tree ales. Within the 15th century thatched building you’ll find a mix of locals and visitors enjoying real ales, fine wines, excellent food and attentive service. Our bar food also serves our home-made fish and chips. Ask for details.

We are delighted to have been awarded a Michelin star for the ninth year running.

We had a wonderful lunch visit on Thursday. The fare was well executed and to top it off, Jonathan gave us a great run down of the building and its history. O and the chocolates that you use as the petite four🥰, those alone justify my return ❤️. Thanks for making our trip a memory one. And congratulations once again on your newly acquired Michelin star ⭐️

Been here twice for my/my partner’s birthdays and had an incredible time both times! Would highly recommend the wine pairing, it brought a new level to the food (which was also fantastic) that we didn’t get the first time. Pedro the sommelier was a saint putting up with the number of questions we asked, and the chef gave us some top tips to try recreate his mushroom velouté. Will definitely be returning soon!

Visited this gastropub to experience their tasting menu, which albeit pricey, was very delicious and a worthwhile indulgent treat. The food was impeccably cooked and even the items I was skeptical about (gazpacho and passionfruit soufflé) won me over and proved me wrong. The stars of the show were the smoked salmon and lamb cutlets though - absolutely sublime! The service we received was great and we felt well looked after. My only recommendation would be for them to add speakers and play some low-volume music in the background to help elevate the atmosphere.

From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the warm and welcoming ambiance of the Nut Tree Inn. The garden area was beautiful and the decor was elegant yet cozy, with rustic wooden beams and charming touches such as popcorn on each table. The staff were attentive and friendly, making me feel right at home. Kyle did a great job of accomadating the various allergies and the pregnancy in the group. The food was amazing. We all had the tasting menu an were treated to some truly delicious food. The beers and cocktails were also top draw. My visit to the Nut Tree Inn was a truly memorable experience. From the charming ambiance to the exceptional cuisine, everything about this establishment was top-notch. My only minor note was the lack of a dairy free alternative being available for my coffe. Overall, my visit to the Nut Tree Inn was a truly memorable experience. From the charming ambiance to the exceptional cuisine, everything about this establishment was top-notch and well worth the price. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a lovely meal in a picturesque setting

Really great and cozy place near Oxford. - food was really delicious. I especially liked open lasagna with scallops - wine selection was decent with some unorthodox picks like rose from Lebanon - the staff was friendly and went above and beyond to consider out dietary restrictions - if you plan to go to the place, you need to consider that the whole course will take around 3,5-4h but wait times between courses will be brightened up with great choice of bread -
