Welcome to The Poole Arms Online

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Take a stroll down Poole Quay and discover its oldest watering hole… The Poole Arms.

THE POOLE ARMS, is run by friendly landlord Bob Kerr and his wife Maureen at this specialist fish pub, right on the side of Poole Quay.

The oldest Pub on Poole Quay, the Poole Arms with its distinctive green tiling dates from the 1600s. Eat overlooking the Quay and in summer tables are set outside. Bob and Maureen have a clearly defined view of how fish should be eaten and present beautifully simple dishes with new potatoes and peas, either pan fried, poached or oven baked without a chip in sight.

The house menu nods emphatically towards the nearby water, with what one visitor describes as “excellent seafood at reasonable prices. The only Pub in the town not offering the usual fish-and-chip-in batter fare”. With home-made house specialities such as Fish Soup,Fish Pie and Seafood Casserole.
Other favourites at the Poole Arms include King Prawns in garlic, moulles marinier, herring roes on toast, cod, haddock and plaice fillet, and fresh dressed crab salad with minted new potatoes.

The Poole Arms also has a board with the catch of the day and is influenced by the seasons, utilising local produce as much as possible. The board changes daily and you will see such offerings as Brill, Bream, Skate Wing, Whole Plaice, Red Gurnard, Dab, Torbay Sole, Sea Bass and Sprats.
