Traditional local pub serving good local food and beer. Farmers, cyclists, walkers, children and dogs are all welcome
We’re a rural pub located in the village of Middleton, in the idyllic Northumberland countryside. With vast outdoor seating and a cosy country interior, there’s nowhere else quite like it. We aim to cater for farmers, families, friends, cyclists, dogs, and everybody in-between.
Our specialty is delicious cuisine created with the ingenuity and passion inspired by the fantastic flavours of the seasons and the lands surrounding us. Awarded Chef Max Gott has become known for his skills when it comes to cooking game, most of which he hunts himself to use in the restaurant, serving you the freshest local produce around.
Our extensive beer gardens are the perfect spot to sip on a local brew, nurse a G&T, or even take your time appreciating the flavours and processes involved in our ever-changing wine and cocktail menus.

Best Guinness I’ve had outside of Ireland. Unfortunately no longer serving food.
Best Sunday dinner in Northumberland. Look forward to returning
A perfect stop for Sunday lunch on a cold January bike ride - roaring fires, a friendly and attentive bar man, generous and tasty roast dinner. Highly recommended.
A wonderful local pub which is evidently a hub of activity. While there we saw lots of events on the board for a variety of exciting nights. The food smelt amazing and the drinks tasted immaculate. Well with popping in for. There's a dart board and 2 coal fires! Winter bliss
Amazing recommendation by one of my grandads friends! We’ve been meaning to try this place for quite some time and we were so glad we did! Sunday lunch menu was amazing and the main meal was absolutely spot on. Could not fault this place what so ever. Amazing customer service and family ran which makes it even more homely! Best Sunday dinner we have had in a long time
