We were given the accessible room, which had a lovely bathroom. Breakfast was lovely.
An excellent hotel, considering its star rating. Rooms are large and comfortable with large very comfy beds. The breakfast, whilst not cheap, is of a very high standard and the restaurant and bar area are excellent places to spend some time. Staff could not be more helpful or friendly.
Visited for a Christmas meal with a group. A bit soul-less. Staff functional. Expensive for what it was. Main issue is disabled access. Function room is downstairs. Lift not working in spite of checking for accessibility. Staff refused to open door which led directly to car park.
Visited here for a family meal. Sadly we had to complain as some food arrived late and some food was incorrect to the order. To be fair, the items that were wrong or late were taken off from the bill. Sadly, I won't be visiting here again. I think in this climate, when you provide a service, you have to be bang on and go above and beyond at every level. There's so much competition out there and if you get it wrong people will go elsewhere.
Rooms clean and tidy. Comfy enormous bed, warm room. Evening meal delicious, breakfast delicious. What really really sells this hotel is the service. Every member of staff gave 100 percent. Friendly, polite and helpful. Sensational service, nothing too much trouble. Thankyou.

It's very easy for us to say that Gibside pub is pretty cool. But that's because there's not many pubs tucked away in an 18th-century estate. Wondering what all the fuss is about?
